Colourful Chinese New Year in the Heart of Moscow
On January 29, Moscow celebrated the Chinese New Year, which in the Land of the Rising Sun is traditionally celebrated for 15 days – until February 12. On this occasion, colourful events took place in the very centre of the capital – the festival was opened by the official representative of the Russian Ministry of Foreign Affairs Maria Zakharova and the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the People's Republic of China Zhang Hanhui.
Manezhnaya Square was once again transformed beyond recognition. The main decorations that decorated the space were the symbols of the outgoing and incoming year – giant Dragons and Snakes.
This year, the Aerodinamika team made a creative move – we placed our inflatable figures right on the Christmas trees and got a real WoW effect. The favourite is a giant 30-metre dragon, twining around the central 20-metre Christmas tree of Manezhnaya Square. We decorated 10-meter fir trees with two smaller dragons, each 7.5 meters in size.
A special highlight is a friendly six-meter panda, which straddled
a festive tree, 10 meters high. And we replaced the bear that everyone loved last year with a new one – a beautiful snake 10 meters long.
Manezhnaya Square shines with thousands of lights – Chinese lanterns, stunning illumination, bright inflatable installations with lighting. All this attracts guests to get to know the culture of China better and admire the festive decoration. Last year, 700,000 participants visited the themed festival in the capital, and this time there were even more. The next 2 weeks and you can enjoy this beauty!
